New patients will receive a thorough exam by the doctor after one of our hygienists records existing conditions and takes any necessary x-rays.  Please bring any current x-rays from other offices with you to this appointment.  This will save time and avoid the expense of having new x-rays taken.  We are unable to do a proper exam without x-rays.  If treatment for gum disease is not needed, the hygienist will clean your teeth at this first visit.
 

Dr. Schiavone is participating provider for Excellus, Delta and the Teamsters DeCare dental insurance plans.  Most other dental insurance plans can be used but we cannot accept Medicaid or Child Health Plus at this time.  In order to keep our fees reasonable, patients are asked to pay for dental services not covered by their insurance at the time of service including co-payments and deductibles.  For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.  A few dental insurance companies will only send claim payments to the patient at their home address.  In these cases, we must ask you to pay in full the day you receive treatment.  We will assist our patients in obtaining insurance claim payments in any way possible but the patient is solely responsible for payment of dental care.
